It is 5 km from Certaldo, 15 km from San Gimignano, 30 km from Florence, 30 km from Siena. The Casa di Giovanni Boccaccio is located on the main street just beyond the Museo del Chiodo. Partially rebuilt in the 20th century, it is now the headquarters of the Ente Nazionale Giovanni Boccaccio and houses a museum dedicated to the great author and an important library that preserves various documents and many texts, including several editions, in various languages, of the Decameron, Boccaccio's immortal masterpiece. Certaldo is located in the heart of the Florentine Elsa Valley, an area rich in things to see and places to visit. Not far from the village, just outside Certaldo Alto, is the Parco di Canonica, the ideal place to relax in the green. Here there are several hiking trails, a picnic area and beautiful views.
