PARK ESTATE VILLA SAN MARCO

The green areas we provide are within the historic Villa San Marco Park, with centuries-old trees protected by Unesco such as the Cedar of Lebanon and the approximately 400-year-old Sophora Japonica. The entire park is very picturesque, surrounded by walls and the atmosphere is reminiscent of the famous book "Il Giardino dei Finzi Contini" written by Giorgio Bassani. Very close to the historic centre of Ferrara, from which it is only 6.5 km away, and reachable in 20 minutes by bicycle thanks to the cycle paths or in 5 minutes by car, the Villa is the starting or finishing point for cycling, history, culture and gastronomy enthusiasts. Ferrara, in fact, was one of the European capitals of culture, art, and gastronomy, and a point of reference for artists, poets and singers. In the historic centre we find the Castello degli Estensi, the Duomo, Piazza Ariostea where the Palio (older than that of Siena) is held, the Palazzo dei Diamanti, home to some of the best known and most appreciated exhibitions, and finally, not to be underestimated, the evocative restaurants where you can get to know and taste the typical dishes of Ferrara cuisine, such as salama da sugo, cappellacci di zucca, cappelletti in brodo, pasticcio ferrarese, pampapato cake, tenerina or castagnaccio.
