Camping in the heart of the Apennines in Reggio Emilia

I am making a space available for tents and campers in the heart of the Apennines. You will be in Carpineti, in the province of Reggio Emilia. The uniqueness of the place is certainly given by its location, but also by the presence of animals on the property, which will make your stay more interesting, certainly for nature lovers.

The services available are water, electricity, lighting, wifi and a reserved car park. You will have a shared bathroom. Outside, you will find a table and a barbecue to fully enjoy the camping experience. Check-in is available 24/24 and the area is fenced off. The experience is suitable for couples, families with children, groups of friends, as well as solo travellers.

It is worth visiting the Carpinete Castle, which towers above the village. It was one of the medieval fortresses of the powerful Canossa family, the favourite residence of Countess Matilda, who often stayed here during the Investiture Struggle between the papacy and the empire; it is strategically located on Mount Antognano. Unfortunately, the castle has not been preserved intact, but it is still very impressive and offers a view from the Apennine ridge down to the plain. In the Municipality of Carpineti there are countless paths and cart roads, ideal for walking in nature while enjoying the landscape of the Reggio Apennines. Two well-known trekking and hiking routes pass through here, one is the Via matildica del Volto Santo, which connects Mantua with Lucca in a series of stages and crosses this very area. The second is the Spallanzani Path, which from Scandiano reaches the Apennine ridge at San Pellegrino in Alpe.
