Camper parking area in the province of Taranto

I provide a camper van parking area in Castellaneta, in the province of Taranto, 3.5 km from the sea. There are no services available, but you can enjoy a fantastic sunset. The area is fully fenced and protected by security. The experience is suitable for couples, families with children, groups of friends, as well as solo travellers. Your four-legged friends are welcome. Taranto has three islets: San Paolo, San Pietro and San Nicolicchio, which has now disappeared. Today you can only visit the island of San Pietro, where the first Pope is said to have landed before going to Rome. This islet is a reserve with crystal-clear water and behind it a forest of plane trees, holm oaks and oaks. A 40-minute boat trip from the port of Taranto takes you to the Marina Militare establishment with bars and picnic areas where you can spend a wonderful day in nature: the seabed of San Pietro is rich in Posidonia, sponges and starfish and it is not uncommon to spot dolphins during the crossing. The sea in Taranto is not as famous as that in other parts of Apulia, especially the lower Salento, to which it has nothing to envy. Crystal-clear water, shallow waters and few crowds even in August make the coast of Taranto and its province ideal for those who love the sea but not stress. Heading south, about 20 km from the centre, you come to Marina di Pulsano and then immediately afterwards Marina di Lizzano: here the scenery is very similar, with dunes, turquoise sea and white sand.
