Camping in Sardinia, among Mediterranean flavors and habitats

Contrary to many beliefs, Sardinia is the perfect destination, both during the summer and the winter months.

In fact, there are many activities that you can do during the year, including those offered by the camping sites of Garden Sharing. The island, of course, is best known for its desirable coastline, but it can offer so much more. And there's nothing better than doing it on a camping trip and perhaps, in one of the campsites offered by Garden Sharing.

There are many tourist attractions, such as the Archipelago of La Maddalena and the famous Costa Smeralda, both located in the north of the island. Here, is also located the charming Olbia, which is the gateway to Gallura, as well as one of the most active and thriving ports in the region.

The historical center is concentrated around Corso Umberto I and the surrounding squares, including Piazza Terranova Pausania, Piazza delle Terme and Piazza Matteotti. Absolutely not to be missed is the Parish of San Paolo Apostolo, famous for its baroque style and colorful dome. Do not miss the opportunity to visit the Basilica of San Simplicio, with the Necropolis, located a short distance from the main street of the city. This is the most important religious monument in north-eastern Sardinia, built in Romanesque style with an interior almost entirely in granite.

Take a look at the Pedres Castle, located on Monte e' S'Abe, reachable through a staircase path.

Also, don't miss the opportunity to see the Sacred Well of Sa Testa, 15 minutes away from the city center.

In the central part of the island, we find the National Park of the Gulf of Orosei and the medieval city of Oristano, while in the south there is the Costa Rei, characterized by a long stretch of Caribbean beach. Moreover, always in the southern part of the island, there is another prominent city: Cagliari, a perfect place to rest and stay in one of our camping sites.

In the district of Castello, you can admire the beautiful Sardinian landscape from the Tower of the Elephant and the Tower of San Pancrazio, both dating back to the 14th century. If you continue, you find Piazza Palazzo, where the Royal Palace, the Episcopal Palace and the Cathedral are located. If you want to relax, stop by the Giardino Sotto Le Mura, a great place to rest. Here, you will also find the elevator to reach another beautiful city, the Bastion of Saint Remy, where you can enjoy the most spectacular view of Cagliari.

What are you waiting for, prepare the destination for your next camping! Garden Sharing: a name, a guarantee.

Do not miss one the many Cagliari's attractions, the majestic Cathedral of Santa Maria, built in Baroque style and dated back to the 13th century. If you have the chance, go visit the Museum of the Cathedral located nearby, in Via del Fossario. If you like history, stop by the National Archaeological Museum, which is the most important archaeological museum in Sardinia.

During your stay, don't forget to taste the local cuisine. Sardinia is well known for the great variety of traditions and flavors. Do not miss the carasau bread, the typical Sardinian bread, and the famous porcetto, or better known as "porceddu". For dessert, try Seadas, a fried sweet filled with fresh cheese and covered with a delicate crunchy crust of honey or sugar.
